Right click and choose Server Properties, click on the Drivers Tab and click the Add button and install the WIndows 7 Drivers for the printer, then when you reconnect to the print server it will use the Windows 7 Drivers. The best answer here saved me!!!Thank you!!!
OS: Windows 8.1 Pro. Fully patched and updated.I have a user who connects to several systems which require JRE on the local pc. Java version 1.8.077 was installed and working correctly. The user has been successfully logging into the different systems without issue until last Thursday. Whenattempting to log in to a system that she doesn't use very often, she is told that she cannot continue because that system requires java version 1.7.0?? To 1.8.051 to run. I installed 1.8.051 and she tried again.
She still got the same error,so I uninstalled 1.8.077 and she tried again. This time the interface told her that no version of Java was installed.
I verified that, indeed, Java was installed, had her reboot and try again. So then I uninstalled 1.8.051,and verified that the registry was clean of Java references, rebooted her computer and tried to reinstall the current version, build 77. THIS time, the installation started normally, but when the 'downloading java' screen popped up (the onewith the small green bar that goes across as it downloads), the window went away after about a second or maybe two, and nothing else happened. A look at Task manager indicated that no installation routines were running. A look at Programs and Featuresin the control panel showed no installation of Java.
Testing with IE showed that Java wasn't installed either. Thanks for your reply, RickLi.I have already downloaded the offline installer and have tried that. In this case, Java fails immediately after I tell it to install and approve the standard MS 'are you sure you want to install this' prompt, and it fails with the same EventID 1000 and follow-up two ID 1001 messages. I've also already run SFC /scannow, which found an issue, and dism /online/cleanup-image /restore health, which fixed the issue. I then ran sfc /scannow again as a check that the dism repair worked. After this, I got the same errors. As an addendum, I'm including the log file referred to in tID 1000. Maybe that will help you help me.
Hi DowMathis,“I tried that, and was able to install the latest version of Java successfully (1.8.091).”Considering the last version of JAVA is already installed successfully, and your current question is more related to JAVA.It is suggested to contact to JAVA support for suitable suggestions, they are more familiar with their products, they may have more resources to help you.Best regards. Please remember to mark the replies as answers if they help, and unmark the answers if they provide no help. Hi DowMathis,After reaching, I found some information from JAVA support website. You may see a message from IE stating The page you are viewing uses Java. More information on Java support is available from the Microsoft website.Causes.The plugin is not registered in the browser.Java did not properly install.WorkaroundRestart the Internet Explorer browser1.Close and re-open IE2.Return to the application page and see if you still see the IE message,3.If the same message appears, try restarting your system.4.If the message persists, re-install the latest Java versionPlease refer to the following link form JAVA support for detailed information.NOTE: This response contains a reference to a third party World Wide Web site. Sorry to be so slow getting back with you, but I had to go out of town over the weekend to check on my elderly parents. I just tested the recommendation form Java that you so kindly located, and wddly, when I triedgoing through IE to install the latest version (once again, build 91), as instructed in #4 of the Workaround above, I got the same event ID 1000 followed by the first of the two event ID 1001 messages as in my original question.
It's as if I hadn't doneanything at all.Thoughts?Dow Mathis GVNW Consulting, Inc.
